I didn't see Val's message either. I wonder if I can on my home computer.

And here's one I sent to Val by mistake! Yes, please, do make it so we reply directly to the List!!! If we want to send an email to someone in private, it's easy enuf to do that...

Okay, this is weird... I got Stuart's original message, but I couldn't see your message in the reply, Val; it came as attachments not in the body of the email! The only attachment that I could see in the actual email was your suggested rewrite. Usually it's the other way around; text comes through and the picture doesn't... but when Stuart wrote his response back, I could see all the text. Computer glitch (I've been having a lot of those!), Hotmail issue, or something to do with the new server? Any ideas? (Personally, I suspect some sort of weird interaction between my computer and the new server...)

P.S. I know the sign Stuart's talking about, and although I would put the hand closer to the head, I would use the down-up arrows. Using arrows that only go in one direction makes me think the light ends up staying on, when the sign intends it to be off at the end. Three flashes would end up being a bit clunky, though... although repeated quick flashes are a slightly different movement and you might be able to use the hinge movement instead. See attached - what do you think? The only problem is that this writing makes it look like the fingers never come apart, which is where Stuart's writing is more accurate. I guess it's really a balance - accuracy vs. simplicity!
