Hello Adam, Stefan, Andre and everyone -
Yes...these are very advanced symbols which we only use when we really  
have to...mostly in storytelling...they are necessary, but should be  
avoided if possible...

In summary, the Horizontal Line represents the Horizon in front of us,  
and how our arm relates to the Horizon Line.

All these diagonals are possible: steepest, steeper, mid-diagonal, and  
least-steep...I will leave the degrees to you ;-)




Where the Horizon Line hits on your arm, it creates different degrees  
of diagonal.

I like your side view, Adam...that helps a great deal...the one with  
the horizontal line in the center of the arrowstem...that one is half- 
way...or the mid-way point diagonal....like your first example on the  
left
